# Customizing your site

Choose your site to open **Site settings**. General, Appearance, Navigation, Pages & sidebar, Source, Updates and Versions share one workspace. **Open docs** opens the current published documentation in its own tab. Use these settings to change the reader’s identity and appearance. These choices are stored in docu.fast separately from your Markdown.

## Name and homepage

The site name appears beside the logo and in browser titles. Choose the page readers should see at the site’s root address, or keep automatic homepage selection.

## Appearance

Choose **Appearance** to adjust logo text and description, link and button color, and heading style. Use **Browse repository logos** to choose a supported image from the retained documentation. Choosing an image changes your draft; save to apply it. If a suggestion does not load, use the visible **Logo image path** field or **Use no logo**.

Use the color picker for visual selection or enter an exact hex color. Choose colors that keep links and buttons readable against their backgrounds.

The logo image path refers to a supported image within the documentation folder. The form lists supported formats and limits. Provide a description that identifies the logo. Clearing the logo removes it; **Use default** restores the imported value.

## Site address

In **Site address**, set **Site name in the address** and choose **Save address**. Use 3–63 lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens, such as `my-project-docs`. The address uses `/s/my-project-docs/`; reserved or already-used names are rejected.

Save or discard other settings edits before changing the address. Previous readable addresses and the original saved site link keep working after a rename. Changing the address does not make the site public or import a new source version.

## Page descriptions

A page description supplies metadata. It does not add introductory text to the article. A site-level default description is used only when a page does not supply its own.

## Page frontmatter

In **Pages and sidebar**, select a page to inspect **Repository frontmatter** to inspect its imported metadata. The page controls identify repository defaults and docu.fast overrides. Use **Copy agent prompt** for repository edits with your own agent. See [Page frontmatter](https://docu.fast/docs/page-frontmatter/) for conventions and precedence.

## Finding pages and folders

**Find a page** filters the list of pages to edit. Longer homepage, folder and opening-page lists also offer a filter. Filtering does not change the saved choice. These filters do not configure reader search: documentation search is generated automatically with each build.

All editable fields are visible within their section. Native selection menus choose from existing pages or folders; settings are not hidden inside accordions. Source contains export, reset and deletion controls. Updates contains publication status, and Versions contains retained builds and restore actions.

## Save and discard

**Save changes** applies presentation and navigation choices to the current retained content. Wait for the applied confirmation before checking the site. Saving settings does not publish unrelated repository changes.

**Discard changes** restores the active values. **Use default** changes a field back to its imported value; save to apply that choice.

If another tab changes the site while you edit, reload the current settings before trying again. A stale form must not replace newer settings.

## Current availability

Customer sites remain private during early access. Custom domains, paid plans, and public signup are not available. The saved site link in the app is the address to use for your current publication.
